Whitewashed Idol
We'll be down to eight after this... should be interesting who the new member of the bottom three is. I'm guessing it'll be Elliott joining Ace and Katharine... but who knows, maybe Bucky will be down there. Hopefully none of my favorites.
Hmm, interesting, when they edit last night's moments they make it seem like Simon was nice, then "back to his old tricks", when actually if anything it was the opposite. They get Kenny Rogers on stage, he looks very hip and is totally comfortable in his own skin. Sings I Can't Unlove You, new song--so smooth and easy and confident. It's no Gambler, but not bad; Travis Tritt is in the audience, boy the stars are just dropping from the skies.
This week's Ford commercial is stupid. They go to shots of the contestants rehearsing with Queens--weird, since the show won't run till next week. Whoah, they're gonna split them into three groups of three, one of which is the bottom three.
Well, everyone's gonna wanna be with Taylor. Mandisa's in her own group; then Eliott joins her. Paris joins them... Hmmm. Ace starts the third group. Kellie joins Taylor, that's obviously the popular group. Chris joins that group too. Katharine and Bucky stuck with Ace. Interesting, it could be lowest to top, left to right across stage. They tell Taylor's group to go back, they're safe, of course.
Commercial for American Idol DVD game, that thing's gonna sell a million copies. I'm thinking Paris needs to do something special the next few weeks to move up to that top group--Kellie may be the most vulnerable up there. Wow, it's all flipped--Mandisa, Elliott and Paris are in the bottom three.
Hmm, top six are all white... interesting. Is there somesortof white backlash going on as the competition gets bigger? After all, last year it was Carrie Underwood vs. Bo Bice in the finals, a year after Fantasia won and two years after Ruben.
It really should be Elliott leaving... not sure what his fan base is. Paris is safe; just Mandisa and Elliott. And it's Mandisa--wow, what a crazy turn of events, like one of the best singers. Audience is totally stunned, as are the contestants. She tells her fans she blesses them in the name of Jesus.
I did like her, but as the competition went on she got a little tiresome. Probably not humble enough for all the kids out. She really performs her last song; gosh, next week is gonna be tough for Paris, only non-whitey left. It might be good for her vote totals if civil rights groups get on the case.
